Tének, or Western Huastec, is a Mayan language spoken by the Tének people in Mexico, primarily in San Luis Potosí and northern Veracruz. It is one of the three main dialectal variants of Huastec and is also known as Huasteco or Wastek. Tének is unique among Mayan languages for having tone and has been influenced by other nearby languages due to its geographic isolation.
